Who we are
This is the Amperlo blog, published at blog.amperlo.com. Amperlo is a mobile-first logbook for EV drivers, run by FXRM Ltd. Questions about this policy, or about any personal data we hold, can be sent to support@amperlo.com.
This policy covers the blog only. The main Amperlo application at amperlo.com, where you log your own charging and mileage data, has its own separate account and data-handling terms.
Comments
When you leave a comment we collect the data shown in the comment form (name, email address, comment text), plus your IP address and browser user-agent string, to help detect spam. You do not need to register or log in to comment.
An anonymised hash of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you have a profile picture there. Gravatar’s own privacy policy is at automattic.com/privacy. Once a comment is approved, that picture is shown publicly next to it.
If you tick the cookie opt-in box when commenting, we set a cookie holding your name, email address and website so you don’t have to re-enter them next time. It lasts one year.
Comments are checked by Akismet, an automated spam-detection service. See Akismet’s privacy policy at automattic.com/privacy for how it processes that data.
Cookies
Besides the comment cookie above, visiting the site sets a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies at all — it holds no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. Logged-in staff accounts get their own login and preference cookies; these are only set for people who administer the site, not for readers.
Media
If you upload images to this site, avoid ones with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) — visitors can extract that data from images they download.
Embedded content
Posts here may include embedded content (video, images, articles) from other sites. That content behaves exactly as if you’d visited the other site directly — it can set its own cookies, track your interaction, and monitor you if you’re logged into an account there. We don’t control that.
Analytics and site tools
This site has Google Site Kit installed, which can connect Google Analytics and Search Console for standard traffic reporting (pages viewed, approximate location, browser/device type). If and when that’s connected, Google processes that data under its own privacy policy. We also use AI-assisted editorial tools (for things like generating post excerpts, alt text and translations) to help write and manage content — these operate on content we publish, not on visitor data.
Who we share data with
If you request a password reset (staff accounts only — this isn’t offered to the public), your IP address is included in the reset email. Comment data is shared with Akismet as described above, and, if connected, aggregate traffic data is shared with Google via Site Kit. We don’t sell or otherwise trade personal data.
How long we keep your data
Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so we can recognise and auto-approve your follow-up comments instead of holding them for moderation. Staff user accounts store the profile information they provide; staff can see, edit or delete their own data at any time.
Your rights over your data
If you’ve left a comment on this site, you can ask us for an export of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to erase it — email support@amperlo.com. This doesn’t cover data we’re required to keep for administrative, legal or security reasons.
